Yesterday we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL fall weather, and heading out to the pumpkin patch! It rained almost everyday last week(which I LOVED) so we kept putting off our pumpkin patch extravaganza, and we are so glad we did because yesterday was the perfect day for it.
Preston kept telling us he was so excited to go to the pumpkin patch!
I'm not even sure he knew what it was or what was going to happen, but when we got there he was in heaven.
He grab his little red wagon and stomped around looking for his perfect pumpkin. He {so sweetly} made sure he picked a pumpkin for each of us(even a tiny one for "his baby Wes"), then he proceeded to fill the wagon with every pumpkin/giant gourd he could pick up.
On a side note: When Preston's hair is crazy I always ask him if he wants to wear a hat, and most of the time he tells me NO. But on this day when I had his hair looking so cute, he insisted on wearing it...mainly because he wants to be just like his Dad. So that's the reasoning for his cute little hat covering his eyes in every picture.
And this here is what we call an Iowa sandbox!
I'm going to figure out how to have one of these of my own some day, way better/cleaner than sand. Skyler informed me that it may attract all sorts of creatures, so I told him I'll put one in the playroom!
Proof that Wes and I really were at the pumpkin patch with the family.
I always try to have Skyler snap at least one of me, I don't want my kids to look back on pictures and ask why Mom was never there...OK ok, so they probably won't ever ask that
...It's mainly so I don't get sad that I'm never in on the pictures!haha
Confession of a mother: I don't ALWAYS enjoy being the one behind the camera, I wish I had more pictures of me with my boys/husband.
I love getting out of the house with my little family.
Skyler leaves the house everyday, so I don't think it's as much of a treat to him as it is to me(and Prest). And I'm sure that Skyler would rather enjoy a little time at home on his days off, so it's extra sweet of him to take us out for a little family fun day!
And we especially LOVED every second we got with Skyler this weekend. He had(...I think)7 tests within the last week and a half, he has been so busy studying, it was nice for him to get a little break(although he still squeezed in a little study time on Saturday). He's a good man, we sure LOVE him!
