Happy Birthday To The Man {of the house}

Happiest Birthday ever to this handsome fellow.

Skyler's 29th year

*Finishing up his last year of Dental school!!!!

* Has 2 sweet little boys that love him to pieces and another on the way.

* Is married to the women of his dreams :) hehe

*Got this awesome train cake for his birthday.

Ok that last one was a lie.

It really wasn't that awesome. But I tried my best.

Growing up, Skyler's Mom always made Skyler a train cake for his birthday. Full on train with lots of awesomely decorated train cars. So I was a little shocked when he requested a train this year.

I seriously thought to myself, "Are you kidding me right now? How in the world to you expect me to make a train cake, after you have had 29 years of awesome train cakes."

So I tried. Definitely not what he was used to I'm sure. But he said he loved it :) He's nice.

And we had to throw in a (blurry) birthday selfie.

And while I'm on the SKYLER topic. I think I forgot to mention that Skyler got a deer.

The week before Thanksgiving he went out on a nice freezing day (to this field) and got this big buck with his bow.

Which now looks like this....stacked in our freezer :)

oh and this....we tried making deer sausage this year too.

Skyler's {Where Abouts}

I know you don't hear much about the hubs around this blog. Not that I don't love him profusely and think he deserves every post to be about him (because I do), but... he just usually doesn't have much going on...just school.

THE LIFE, right?

First off:

It's "No Shave November" - Mike (my brother-in-law) texted all the brothers and told them the contest was on, so Skyler gave it a go (for 6 days). Then he decided he wanted to shave. I took a picture of it and he told me "you better not post that selfie." Hehe (I tried to tell him it wasn't an actually selfie cause I took it), but I respected that.

So now here I am posting it to the blog :)

Second:

{Lately} Skyler has been able to sneak away on Saturday mornings for a couple hours of hunting. And yesterday it finally paid off. He came home with this fellow Saturday night, and we ate him for dinner on Sunday. (The hotdog was my backup in cause I didn't like the venison. But I surprisingly liked it).

And Third:

That's pretty much it about Skyler. School is still going strong, he pretty much spends most of his days in the clinic (which I imagine is way more fun than class). Comes home around 6 and we hang all over him as long as we can.

Oh ya know, we just love the man to pieces!

Pheasant Thanksgiving 2009

For Thanksgiving we headed back to Kansas. We had tons of fun spending time with the family, and the boys had lots of fun on their everyday hunt for birds! The weather was so nice, a perfect break before we came home to freeze for the rest of the winter. The day we got back I got all the christmas decorations up, and we set up the tree for family night. What do ya think? Looks pretty all lit up, I keep it lit up as long as I can, morning and night. We can't wait for christmas, and we really can't wait for the new year! We hope your Thanksgiving holiday was wonderful and we wish you all a Merry Christmas, it'll be here before we know it!
