With Valentine's Day landing on a Saturday this year I wanted to do something a little more fun for the whole family. 

...and thankfully, this didn't disappoint.  

I wanted this whole thing to be a surprise. So I didn't set it up until Skyler took the boys out of the house later in the evening (which meant no natural light for good pictures...boo. That will make or break a good photo, Oh well, it's documented, right?). The boys walked into the house so surprised and excited to start the festivities.  

Fun little fact for ya. I have this little love for crush drinks. I just think they are so cute and colorful. I bought some for Skyler and I's very first Valentine's Day together. From then on out it's been a tradition. We always have crush soda on Valentine's Day and our anniversary (and those are the only times we buy them).

 So while I was at the store picking them up, I had this random thought that they totally reminded me of a ring toss game at a carnival. Dun dun dun...And there you have it. Cupid's Carnival was created. I wandered around and picked up a few cheap little items for prizes and created the rest with things I had around the house. 

Our Carnival consisted of: Ring Toss, Tumbling Towers, Ball Toss, Cake Walk, Guessing Station and of course...a Photo Booth and Prize Booth. We earned tokens at every game and used them for the prize booth at the end of the night.

I felt like Preston and Wesley actually got into Valentine's Day this year. They drew Skyler and I multiple cards throughout the day and kept delivering them to us telling us how much they loved us. It was pretty cute.

Proof my lighting was terrible {The popcorn was all cute and covered in pink chocolate}...not like what is pictured above :)

The boys had a blast. 

They keep asking if we can have another carnival...everyday.

Skyler surprised me with this sweet little ring that I'm in love with.

Things like this just melt my heart.

I sure do love the man (enough to wear his initial on my finger..haha)

We had a delicious candlelight dinner made by Skyler (apple butter pork chops). The boys were fascinated by (blowing out) the candles. The giant balloon arrangement you see, I won at our Relief Society service auction the night before. The boys were also fascinated by it :) Especially Wes.

I know people think Valentine's Day is silly, but I'm in love with it. I think it's cute when people do over the top things just to let someone know how much they are loved.

A simply {simple} lovely day. 

Here is our sweet little Wesley in all of his glory. Yeah, he will really appreciate these pictures when he grows up, I just know it.

Skyler was in charge of Valentine's Day this year and even planned it a fishing theme.

He came home early from school to start dinner and made us Mahi Mahi with mango-vanilla coulis...yep, my husband is a better cook than me, and it was so good(wish I could get him to cook every night, then we would all be happy!).

After we ate our fish we went "fishing" which Preston LOVED and asks us everyday since if we can do more fishing. The back of the fish had words on them, one of which was a clue for our dessert...delicious chocolate fondue of course(our favorite)!

 We sent out these Valentine's from Preston but since they were super girlie looking we had to but something together a little more manly. . .

Decorated the house a little with a few goodies, who doesn't love lots of chocolate on Valentine's Day. It's tradition that we ALWAYS have jones or crush red soda (since they didn't have jones at the store) on Valentine's day. Not sure why I turned it into a tradition, but it's good stuff, so we'll keep it up!

Skyler came home from school with these beauties, he's too sweet! And in return I had his favorite dinner waiting for him, Chicken Cordon Bleu!

Preston got this adorable little bear in Grandpa and Grandma Steels Valentine's package and he is falling more and more in love with him everyday. This morning he was sharing his drink with him and giving him lots of hugs and kisses.
