Packing Fun!

We have been doing a lot of packing lately...so I guess you could say the boxes have become Preston playground!

He LOVES climbing and is having a hay day with all of the stacked boxes!

After a few long days of packing we decided we needed a little break and what better place for a break than the WATER!

There is a new mini water park in town called Rexburg Rapids that just opened on Saturday. Preston and I met up with some cousins Sadie, Madison, & Tanner and spent the day in the water!

The slides are super fun, the lazy pool is perfect, and the rock climbing wall you see....not as easy as it looks, trust me!

Everyone was thinking Rexburg was crazy for building a outdoor water park since it's Freezing here 9 out of the 12 months of the year, And it is kinda crazy yes...but don't worry they almost made up for it because the water is HEATED!! Not like hot tub heated, but just the perfect temperature so when you get in you don't think your freezing, you actually think it's perfect!

We had so much fun I didn't even realize how long I had been in the sun...

Check out my shoulder, a little red... at least I remembered to put sunscreen on Preston!

We had so much fun, it was the perfect break from packing and got me super excited to spend more time in the water...don't know if that will happen but I sure hope so!

Remembering Rexburg

Rexburg has been our home for quite some time now and lots of memories have been made here. Everyday we get closer and closer to leaving this place so we thought it would be nice to take a little walk down memory lane before it's to late.

The Rexburg Idaho Temple

I'm probably safe to say that I will never live closer to a temple than I do now. It's about a 1 minute drive from our home. We walk outside our house...we see the temple, we drive to school...there's the temple, we go to the grocery store...we pass the temple, now that is something that I am going to miss dearly. Not only is the temple an amazing sight to see, Skyler & I were married in the Rexburg temple so it's just that much more special to us.

The Canal

Of course there a tons of canals in Rexburg but our favorite is the small one behind K-mart (right by the new outdoor aquatic/water park). Why you might ask... Well when Skyler and I were dating we would walk to this canal and play pooh stick. So that is where Skyler proposed. If you missed the proposal story it is found here, and it is definitely worth reading...at least I think so!

The railroad tracks run right over the canal, and that just so happened to be where our engagement picture was taken. So here is our family 3 years later and one more little body!

Jake was nice enough to tag along with us and snap some family pictures in some of our favorite places.

And of course Preston, I guess we could say Preston being born is one of the most important memories from Rexburg.

We love Rexburg and all of the wonderful memories that were made here, we will definitely miss this place.

But we are so excited to leave!

A Morning In The Ice-burg

Looking outside this morning we thought we were in for a warm day, the sun was shining and it was so beautiful. Skyler asked what the temperature was so I took a quick glance and said 21 degrees, not bad he says. After looking back at the computer I realized a made a little mistake -21 it says...that's COLD! A few minutes later Jake called and told us he had an experiment we should try....So we boiled up a cup of water and threw it off our balcony, any guesses to what happened? The water turned to steam before it even reached the ground, how cool is that.

After dropping Skyler off at school, Preston and I can home to find that we were locked out of the house, -20 and locked out, that's not good. Not because I forgot the key, (I even had two keys on me) because it was so cold outside the lock was FROZEN. We had been gone for maybe 5 minutes and the door sealed off that quick!

Thank goodness Shane lives close and let us warm up in his house for a few hours, We even got to enjoy Sadie's birthday breakfast with her!

After a while Shane came with me to try to get in and...still FROZEN. After Shane pounded and pounded and blew lots of hot air into the lock we were in.

Locked out because your lock is frozen....? Only in Rexburg

Oh how I LOVE rexburg winter!

I mean honestly if it's going to be this cold it might as well be SNOWING right?

We better get something good out of freezing to death
