Tis The Season {full of magic}
Things are getting mighty festive around here! Counting down the days until Skyler's birthday Christmas and we can't hardly wait. Preston has been writing letters to Santa all month, practicing his Christmas wrapping, and even requested to take a Christmas present to his nursery teachers at church today.
A family in our branch puts on a live nativity every year that we got to go to. The boys loved it, Preston never wanted to leave the barn. Things always seem to get hectic around the holidays, so it's always nice when we step aside and focus on the true meaning or Christmas. Depending on the day, Preston may or may not tell you that he is most excited for presents. We are still working on that around our house.
And we also love to spread a little Christmas cheer with a visit to Santa. Preston was a little star struck this time around. Santa asked what Prest wanted for Christmas and Preston replied,
"I don't know, maybe a clock.... or a bench."
What??? Did he really just say that. Haha he broke under pressure and all that he could get out of his mouth was whatever was in sight.
We took part in making the annual Gingerbread house. Bought a kit this year. Which barely had enough candy to cover the front door, especially when the kids were eating it faster then we coud plaster it to the house. But no worries we improvised with pretzels. We ended up with a complete house and one creepy looking (Lorax) Gingerbread man :) And then the kids enjoyed eating it everyday after.
This Santa reaffirmed the magic of Christmas.
Preston jumped up onto his lap and Santa pointed at him and said, "Your Dad shot a deer this year didn't he? I watched from my sleigh". Preston was stunned and so excited.
And on a random note. I can't keep this kid down. He climbs on everything and I just smile at him because he is too adorable to get mad at.
