Darby Canyon Wind Caves
This year for Labor Day we headed up to the Darby canyon wind cave to have ourselves a little family hike! My mom just happened to be in town bringing Lane back to school, & Shane and Sadie were back in Rexburg for the weekend as well. So we packed up our backpacks, strapped on Preston, and headed up the mountain.
The cave was just a few miles out of Driggs, and everyone who has been to Driggs knows that it must be a BEAUTIFUL hike…and it was!

The hike was about 5 miles when it was all said and done. About half way up the trail, we saw this cave way off in the distance, so far away that it didn’t even look like you would be able to get to it. Little did I know that’s where we were headed. A few miles later and quite a bit higher, we were in the cave.
It was such a cool cave, but unfortunately we weren’t able to go too far in because of a disease that bats were getting-... Sad day, but even just the opening of the cave was incredible.
We all took turns carrying Preston up the mountain and it’s a good thing because it would have been a LONG hike by myself. When we got to the bottom of the cave, Lane was super nice and stayed with Preston so Skyler and I could hike up into the cave. Lane just had major knee surgery a month ago, so it was actually the only way we could keep him for climbing up into the cave! haha Thanks Lane!
Preston loved the hike, and even managed to get a nap on the way up…Somehow he always manages to get his nap, no matter what his crazy parents drag him into!
