Thought I better squeeze in a wedding story...since it was quite an important happening this last month.

Skyler's younger brother Dallen, who is living up in Rexburg going to BYU-Idaho, got married!

Yay! We were so excited when he heard the news a few months ago, and even more excited when we figured out a way to get to the wedding.

The boys and I hitched a ride with Skyler's parents the week before the wedding. They dropped us off in Salt Lake and we spent a few days at Shane and Sadie's in Utah (which will be covered in another post). Skyler couldn't miss school, so he flew into Idaho Falls Friday night, planning to leave Sunday.

Dallen & Jacee were married Saturay, April 12th in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. And I was lucky enough to take their wedding pictures :) We didn't get to spend much time with Jacee before the wedding, but we are excited to get to know her more and more over the years. 

After spending over a week away, the boys and I were ready to get home. We left at 11pm Saturday night, planning on being at my in-laws in 16hrs....until we ran into SNOW the whole way home. The worst thick chunky ice I have ever drove through. Ended up in Council bluffs 21hrs later. LONG DRIVE, and the kids did incredible. Oh, and Skyler's flight was delayed hrs so he missed his connecting flight in Denver. Once he finally got to Denver (because the snow) no flights were going out....remind you this is APRIL, where the heck did all this snow come from? The airport put Skyler up in a hotel for the night and got him out the next day at 1pm. But that wasn't the end. Poor Skyler was feeling so sick all day, and sure enough, he was very sick. I'll let you imagine what went down on the flight. 

Very eventful week and even more eventful time getting home. Happy that we were able to be a part of the wedding festivities and even happier to be home.

While we were in Idaho we stayed at my Uncle Jeff & Aunt Tiffany's house! We love them to pieces, so we were thrilled that they let us stay with them. All the little kids were in heaven and having so much fun. Anytime we would leave the house all the grandkids would just keep saying...

We just want to go back to Jeffany's house.

(Not sure which kid thought of that...But they all caught on. It was pretty cute).

"Jeffany" have a canal that runs right behind their home.

Yes, we were all a nervous wreck any time we didn't know where the kids were.

But at last, we all survived their beautiful backyard. 

As we were outside roasting hotdogs one day Jake threw out an awesome idea. 

Boat races down the canal?...You betcha!

We all teamed up and made a boat. Only rule was it had to have some sort of "flag" on it.

Team Chake

Jake and Chanel went Huck Finn style and built a raft.

Team Bratt

Dad and Britt were brilliant and went all natural and very simple.

Team Taynner...or Tannler (I don't remember)

Tanner & Tayler went chunky. Big blocks of wood, lots of tape, and even spray paint:)

Team Skrooke

Skyler and Brooke thought they would be cool and build a pontoon style boat ;)

What happened to the other boats you ask? Well, they struggled...all the way to the finish line. Ryan fished a couple of the boats off the bank, sending them on there way to hopefully finish the race. 

1st Place - Team Tanler

2nd Place - Team Bratt (finishing 1-2 seconds after 1st place)

3rd Place - Team Skrooke (finished 3 mins. later) Turns out our boat went faster after it took on water.

4th Place - Team Radie (coming in another 2-3mins after 3rd place)

5th Place - Team Chake (finished about 8-10 mins after 1st place) Practically got pushed through the finish line!bahaha

An eventful day at Jeffany's raceway!

And we can't wait to go back.

Wow...Someone has been MIA for way to long.

Here's a quick little recap in mainly pictures, that's what people enjoy most right?

 Brittany(my sister) was blessing her new little guy Nate 2 weeks before Jakes wedding so I meet my family in KC for the weekend and then continued my adventures with them while leaving my poor husband at home. alone. to study:( (I at least made him lots of freezers meals, to bad that doesn't really make up for your wife missing for 2weeks)

Preston enjoyed every second outside in a nice big yard. He loved the animals, feeding the fish everyday with Grandpa, riding dirtbikes, riding lawnmowers(more like sleeping on mowers), gardening, Annie-I-Over with the uncles and pretty much anything else the uncles did with him.

Wesley loved the stairs(which he learned how to climb), the dog, Grandpa feeding him lots of good food, and anyone else that gave him attention.

I loved my old home, my old room, a yard to enjoy, a gorgeous piano that needed to be played and spending lots of good time with my sweet family. I didn't love that my husband wasn't there...biggest bummer of the whole trip, but I really did love the {VACATION}!

On our way to Idaho for the wedding...you would never guess that it is May.

My parents dropped the boys and I off at the Denver airport. My Dad got an escort pass and took us all the way to our gate(which is almost as far as you can possibly go in the airport since we fly on little planes to get to Iowa). Preston fell asleep before the plane even took off ans Wesley about ten minutes later. Both sleept the entire time(thank goodness). Skyler was waiting for us at our arrival gate in Iowa. Preston told Skyler we got on a plane but the plane didn't fly into the sky...since he sleept the whole time we were in the air he thought we just sat there:(

Poor kid missed out on all the fun!
