Independence Day Happening!

We started off our day ROASTING at the parade, seriously should have been at 7am so then it only would have been 85degrees and not 100. But Preston enjoyed it, he saw tractors, bikes, balloons, horses and got candy....all of his favorites things. What more could the little guy ask for. 

Had ourselves a little BBQ for lunch and a large BBQ for dinner, oh so yummy!

 

And we topped off the day at the firework show. 

For a week or two previous to the 4th I was wondering why in the world I didn't see any firework stands...well come to find out fireworks are ILLEGAL in IOWA. Uh hello, how lame is that? The only things you can have are gold sparklers and those dinky little growing snakes. So of course we had to go watch the city fireworks if we wanted to see anything, even if it meant roasting once again. Good thing it was a pretty good firework show, we loved it.
