Fireworks are illegal in Iowa :( Yes, really.... can you even believe that?

So the only thing I could buy were sparklers and snakes. None the less, we had good fun with them and the boys LOVED them!

Later in the evening we headed to a big city firework show, that we later found out was canceled for the year. What? Who cancels fireworks. Apparently they didn't have the money for it. I would have gladly donated 5 bucks to the cause....total bummer.

I'm a lover of fireworks, and all things that blow up. So thankfully our little town was having a 100th year birthday party for the city the following weekend. We were able to sit at the park right under the giant firework show. Totally made up for our loss = {SCORE}
