I Want To Remember {Everything}

As far a blogging goes, I've been poor at documenting our last year. I remember when Preston was born I had an update on him every single month. Time goes fast, life gets busy. Don't get me wrong, there has been no shortage of documenting my other boys, it just happens in many other forms now.

Most recently I've fallen in love with video like never before. My love for photography has completely spilled over to another love. Videography. As if my camera wasn't already ALWAYS in my hands, it's now always recording too. :) My families loves it....bwhahaha! But I hope they will love it later. In fact, I'm pretty darn sure they will absolutely love it later. A video does incredible things. It brings you back in time, it takes you to the moment.

Just watch.

Dear Little Boys,

For the years you won't remember. I want you to know that we were blessed. I want you to know that you were happy. And most importantly, I want you to know that you have always been loved.

Landon's {First} Birthday

Landon's Blessing

We blessed Landon right after Skyler's Dental school graduation. We had so many family members in town we just couldn't pass up the opportunity. And it was one of the last things we wanted to happen before we left Iowa. Such a special day for us. A perfect time to reflect on all of our Iowa blessings. The last of those being graduation and our sweet little boy. What a tremendous responsibility we have been given to raise little boys. Landon is already 5 months old (seriously...where did time go?) and we thank our Heavenly Father for him every single day!

Just look at him. Babies just make the world a better place.

I wanted each boy to have their own blessing outfit. But I'm here to say, I'm a slacker. Packing the house, having a baby, graduation...so much going on the last few months leading up to this I didn't get around to making Landon his very own outfit. He wore Wesley's.

I know I've said it a thousand times, but we seriously have the best families. What a support they are to use.

...Oh and you'll notice our bare walls :) Like I said...LAST THING to happen before we moved. Literally, nothing left in the house. Not even chairs to sit on.

Besides our wonderful families, we had our incredible friends share the special day with us as well. We just love the Summers. One of the hardest things to leave behind in Iowa. We drew out our goodbyes as long as we could....but just short enough that we all didn't break town in tears. ;)

Our Hospital Stay {Landon's Birth]

I thought it would be fun to look back and see some more detailed pictures from our hospital stay with Landon. Because my stay with a C-Section is a bit longer, we get a bit more comfortable in our little home away from home :)

Grandma Dena (Skyler's Mom) brought the boys up to see Landon twice (Friday & Saturday Morning) before she took them back to her house for the rest of the time we would be at the hospital. So after day two things were mighty quiet around our room. I'm not complaining...it was quite nice. We had plenty of time to snuggle our new little babe.

Don't mind my unmade bed :( At this point I was lucky I even had it in me to stand up and hold a camera.

Skyler's bed is on the right :) As you can tell there was plenty of room in my big bed for him, but with the nurses coming in every second and me raising the lowering my bed all night long, he ended up on the couch/bed most nights. He was a trooper.

My view for four days. Which was brightened up by some beautiful flowers my parents sent me.

My third day in the hospital was Mother's Day, and my first Mother's Day without Preston & Wesley. A little weird not having them there, but it was a good exchange. I mean come on...I think I kind of got the most perfect Mother's Day gift I could ever imagine.

While I was already up for my daily walk around the hall I figured I would try to get ready a little. Something I hadn't ever even attempted with my other boys. But it was Mother's Day and I knew a little makeup and a bun would go a long way...and it totally did! I was wasted by the time I laid back down in my bed, but I felt so much better (And so grateful I was looking somewhat decent). Skyler captured a few pictures that day I will cherish forever.

Skyler is my hero. 4 days waiting on me (and Landon) hand and foot, sleeping on a couch and eating my leftover hospital food ;) He's as good as they come. I was so grateful he took a few days off school. We couldn't have survived without him.

We headed home Monday afternoon.

I remember when I had Wes I said I was so ready to be home after 4 days in the hospital. Honestly, this time I thought to myself, your kicking me out already? Feel free to keep me in here a few more days. Although I missed the round the clock meds, and the surprisingly yummy hospital meals, it was nice to be home.

Especially with this new little guy by our side.

Meet Landon { And His Birth Story}

A rather normal birth story, but it just has to be written down for the records, right? :)

We headed to the hospital Friday morning at 8am for my scheduled C-Section at 10am. Skyler and I got settled into a delivery room, got my IV going, and patiently hung out and waited for show time.

Oh and I should probably mention how I was just sitting there in NO PAIN, NOT in labor. This scheduled thing was pretty darn awesome.

At 10:20-10:30ish I walked myself into the OR. Totally weird....I've been wheeled in on a bed with my two other boys, so to walk on in and sit myself down on the table was pretty funny to me. As soon as the spinal was placed things started going pretty fast. I was quickly laid down on the table and the nurses went to town prepping for the Doctor. As soon as the sheet went up by my face and the Doctor said he was ready to go, Skyler came in and sat down by my head.

A few minutes later, 10:50am, I heard that little newborn cry. Always one of the sweetest moment for me. What seemed like quite a while later, Skyler brought our baby over for me to see. I laid there in awe staring at our sweet little baby for just a few minutes until it was time for him to get cleaned up. Skyler and the baby left while I got stitched up for another hour.

I was wheeled back to our delivery room around 12:00pm. Skyler came in a little while later with...the camera, no baby. So I scrolled through the camera over and over staring at pictures of our new little guy. Can I just say how crazy it is to go through all that and then come back to your room empty handed. Still hadn't held my baby. That's always been the longest hours of my life. Waiting to see my boys after surgery. FINALLY, and what seemed like days later, our nurse brought us our baby at 1:30pm. Almost 3hrs after he was born I got to hold him. And it was so worth the wait!

The sight of all Skyler holding all his boys was just about the cutest thing I had ever seen. Melted my heart. He is such a good Dad. I imagine many fun memories will be made with his bunch of boys!
